Imaginary Competitions

One early morning, a man began running laps at a local track field. He seemed to be enjoying the run.

War of the Gods

In recent news, we heard of a yoga teacher who reserved a room in a Catholic church.

Accepting Differences

It is all too obvious that physical, cultural or social dissimilarity disturbs people. Indifference is impossible. This type of particularism makes us instantly fall back into our own identity that can escalate into hatred of another person. Such an encounter may bring back memories of childhood wounds that we may have received or inflicted upon "giraffe" or "darkie" in order to assert our personality.

Hypocrisy

Have you ever wondered how people who do horrible things are able to live with themselves?

The Courage to be Sane

Adolf Hitler is said to have bragged: "Make the lie big, make it simple, keep repeating it, and eventually they will believe it."

Taking Time

In modern times, our days often resemble a race against the clock.

Conquering Indecision

How to make wise conscious decisions while simultaneously surrendering to life.

Where do we go from here?

Things that we can do as individuals to encourage peaceful change in this madness.

Clear-sightedness

Remaining an informed and clear-minded spectator in this worldly spectacle take a special awareness.

Gratitude

Our generation suffers from maniacal individualism. Yet separatism is necessary for our fulfillment. Expressing our gratitude requires modesty and openness: an attitude that invites sharing. How could we not spontaneously express the gratitude that fills us when someone comes to our aid or offers us a gift in an act of generosity?

The Quickest Path to Liberation

The obstacle to liberation is the ego. So what is the most effective way to overcome it?

Yoga for All

The traditional goal of yoga has been to free oneself of the ego and discover ones true divine nature. This goal seems to have been watered down and even lost in some cases when yoga came to the materialistic western world. Designer-wear-clad students sweat away to deafening music while the instructor shouts on her mike every 5 minutes "Oh yeah! This is enlightenment!!!"
